For the first edition of reFramed we are working with the amazing team of Art Escape Italy. Their venue is a dreamlike Villa in the Tuscan countryside, located just 35 minutes from Florence.

Roughly 700 metres above sea level, we are located near the beautiful Casentinesi forest park, in the Chianti region of Tuscany. Entirely surrounded by nature, the Villa enjoys an enchanting location between woods of chestnut and beech trees, the Casentino Hills and the Forest of Vallombrosa. Enjoy a 360 degree view of the surrounding hills, entirely covered with woodland and vineyards. Ideal for long immersive walks, and a place to engage with nature.

RoOMS.
Each and every room has an unique enchanting charm (I’ve personally confirmed this in person) that is impossible to describe, characterized by the absolute care and attention to detail Art Escape puts into their retreats. Every time I set a foot in one of them, no matter the size, a “wow…” escaped my mouth. Filled with their own personality, they will provide the perfect rest and cozy atmosphere needed after a full day of creation and socializing.
We have carefully distributed them to accommodate everyone's needs and budget.
We need to make a disclaimer: Together with the team of models and artists, we will be a big group. The venue is quite spacious, but please realize it is not possible to put everyone in a private room. We wanted to prioritise keeping the camaraderie of sharing the space over having another accommodation. It also allows people with different economic possibilities to access the event. We appreciate your understanding and flexibility on this.
Shared triple bedroom.
€2,270 incl. VAT
This is the most affordable room we can offer. You will be sharing the space with other 2 attendees of the same gender.
Shared twin bedroom.
€2,470 incl. VAT
This option is perfect if you’re thinking of coming with a partner that will take part in the event, or with a friend. We can accommodate the beds differently according to your requirements. Make sure to include all names on the booking form if booking separately, so we know how to make the arrangements :)
PRIVATE bedrooom.
€2,870 incl. VAT
This is the only private accommodation we offer, and there are only 3 available. This is the only option also to come with a non-participant partner, paying a supplement to cover their costs (+630€). Please be sure to mention this on your booking form!
Shared Spaces.
The shared spaces are also a receptacle of magic.
At the top of a hill overlooking the Tuscan fields, it is surrounded by a forest providing access to spectacular paths. You can reach many different little towns by walking routes away from the transit.
The outside area, where we will hold outdoor sessions weather permitting, has a wood-fired stone oven for pizza nights and a firepit where live music, shadows and stories from our art journeys will intertwine.
A meditative pond next to the studio offers the chance to take a break from figure drawing, or maybe, to speculate the differences between drawing a human life and other species.
There is also a sauna, steam room and a jacuzzi to unwind after the sessions.
STUDIO.
The studio is an octagon, filled with light coming from ceilings apertures which provide the perfect lighting for figure study.

Please bring (or get in Florence upon arrival) your own art materials. We provide easels and solvents. We can help you with information on travel restrictions and instructions for transportation, as well as lead you to the right shops in Florence. You can also purchase your materials and send them directly to the Villa.
You are welcome to use the studio at any time. Yes, even at 3AM inspirations.
Ball Saloon.
The ball saloon will host some impromptu sketching sessions (dry media) as well as the talks and panels scheduled for each day, and will be emptied for after-dark activities (live music?? yes please!)
Meals.
I’ve been attending Art Escape for several years, and in every one of them, food was something I looked forward to everyday, which as a person working in high intensity with their body is of extreme importance. This is thanks to Giovanna, who is a true artist in her own right. Giovanna crafts meals that are not only delicious, fresh and from the local cuisine, but full of nutrients, something not so easy to find.
